Exit/ Entry Performance Art Series, Montreal, QC, Canada

This episode of Exit/ Entry responds to the psychological and physical experience of control. Living through the collective history of social restrictions, three performers focus on expressing the ways control manifests in the body.
During three short Butoh performances, each dancer explores various ideas associated with the process of being in control and been controlled in order to find an imaginary way out of the misbalanced world. How much energy do we need to invest in controlling ourselves and others? What does it mean to be in control of one’s body, situation, life circumstances? What is the deeper meaning of control in a highly changeable and transient experience of life?

In collaboration with Yesenia Fuentes and Ilinca Domsa.
